Sparta Historical Walking Tour

2-3 pm - Meet at Sparta Historical Commission, 71 N. Union St.

Join a free guided historical tour & receive a free book. Enjoy an adult tour or a kid's tour!

Plant a Seed and Read 

5:30-8:30 pm - Sparta Carnegie Township Library, 80 N. Union St.

Join library staff for "Plant a Seed" make and take in front of the library park. All ages are encouraged.

Local Author and Illustrator Meet & Greet

5:30-8:30 -  Sparta Town square, 201 E. Division

Come and meet local author, Jared Zank and local illustrator, Allison Odren! Hear a reading of The Ruffest Day and their soon-to-be-published book, Harlow Saves a Bumblebee. Your child will hear tips about creating their own stories and fun character to go along with them. Please have them bring a paper pad for any story ideas or character drawings.

Family Farm Night activities - Town Square, 201 E. Division

Beer Garden

5:30-9:30 pm in Sparta Town Square

Enjoy a beer, cider, or wine including some features from Stoney Ridge Winery and Dunneback & Girls Pink Barrel Cellars - ages 21+ only.

Antique Farm Tractor Parade & Display

5:30-8:30 pm

Tractors will unload at Storage Control and parade by Meadowlark. They will then drive down Divison and park in Downtown Sparta/

​

Farm animal Fun

5:30-8:30 pm in Balyeat Field

Up close and personal encounters with farm animals and check out the "Worlds Largest Living Holstein," named Si!

Pedal Tractor Pull 

5:30-8:30 pm in Balyeat Field

Win Trophies and bragging rights! Free registration at the event. Kids at 5:30, Adults at 8. Kids will compete in Balyeat Field, and adults will compete in Sparta Town Square. Special thank you to Austin Diesel Power, Hubert Storage, and precise Manufacturing for the custom pulling sled!
