French Toast Breakfast Fundraiser

7:30-10 am, Sparta Civic Center

This french toast breakfast, hosted by City Church, will go towards raising money for the Breen Family, a local family in need of a new van to transport two of their children who have complex medical conditions. The breakfast fundraiser will be $5 for ages 10 and under and $10 for adults.

Ivy Rehab Kids Fun Run 

8:30 am - Check in on N. Union in front of ChoiceOne.

9 am - Race begins 

Brought to us by Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy

Each age group will begin in ten-minute intervals beginning at 9 am! This is a FUN run, places will not be awarded.

Pre-registration online is required for a goodie bag. Pre-registration is now closed. You can still register your child onsite

Sparta Town & Country Days Annual Parade

10-11 am, State St to E. Division

Come join in the fun as local businesses and community groups march in the parade through town! The Sparta Historical Commission proudly announces Sparta Police Chief Andre Milanowski as the 2023 Town & Country Days Parade Grand Marshall. A short reception for Milanowski and his family will be held at the Research Center, 71 N. Union St., beginning at 8:30 am before the parade. Community members are welcome to stop in.

Paint a Plow

11 am-3 pm, Balyeat Field

Paint your handprint on a Village of Sparta Plow which sits out front of the DPW. Help create memories that will last for years to come! 

Train Depot Open for Visitors 

11 am-5 pm, 371 Union St.

Fire Attack for Kids

11:30 am-1:30 pm, Balyeat Parking Lot, 182 Olmstead

Brought to us by The Sparta Fire Department

This will give kids an opportunity to see what it's like to be a firefighter. They'll spray water from a real fire hose at a stimulated building that looks like it's on fire.

Refabulous Studio Canvas Painting

12-2 pm, Balyeat Field Beer Tent

Paint a picture on an 11x14 canvas. The cost is $20 per person.

Stage Entertainment

12-3:30 pm, Town Square Stage, 201 E. Division

Join us as we crown the 5th-grade Young Johnny Appleseed and Miss Apple Blossom. Following the crowning will be a bubble party, demonstrations by Dance With Me dancers & acro students, and more! 

Myers School Museum Open to the Public

2-4 pm, 16 - 13 Mile Rd.

Sparta Township Historical Commission Walking Tour (North State Street)

2 pm, Research Center, 71 North Union St.

Representatives and other local historians will host walking tours with discussions about village history. The walk is approx. one mile and will begin at the Research Center. 

Saturday Evening Fun Around Sparta

Visit all the local bars and restaurants for drinks and entertainment. Sparta Lanes & Garden Patch Restaurant will host a Tar Party from 12-10 pm in their parking lot! For more information, check out this link!
