Where can I find out about local events?

How do I rent the Civic Center or a Park in Sparta, Michigan?

You can rent the Civic Center through the Village of Sparta by filling out the Rental Reservation Request form on their website. Click here to learn more about how to rent the Sparta Civic Center.

You can rent one of Sparta's many parks by downloading the Parks Reservation Application. There may be  a fee for non-residents, but there is no fee for Village residents or Non-Profit organizations. Click here to learn about renting one of Sparta's fantastic parks.

Where are Sparta's festivals located?

Rogers Park is located at 75 N. Union Street.

Balyeat Field is located at 182 Olmstead Street.

Parklet is located at 201 E. Division Street.

The Chamber Office is located at 194 E. Division Street.

The Community House is located at N. Union Street.

Where should I park?

There are more than 600 public parking spaces throughout the downtown area, less than two-minute walk from our town square! Most parking spaces are located in and around Union and Washington Streets.

Are dogs allowed?

We recommend leaving your pets at home, however, leashed pets are allowed! Please be prepared to pick up after your pets.

Lost & Found?

Lost & Found can be turned into the information booth during events. All items found will be turned into the Sparta Police Department (616) 887-8716.

Do your events take Credit Cards & or have ATMs?

Some booths/vendors/events take credit cards. There is an ATM located on the North side of Choice One Bank at 109 E. Division, just south of the Civic Center Parking Lot. Click here to check out a map of the downtown area.

Emergency Assistance?

During events, there are staff onsite who can contact medical or emergency numbers. Call 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency.

Are there Restrooms/Handwashing available?

Handicapped-accessible portable toilets and hand wash stations are available during public events. There is also a public restroom located on the north side of 201 E. Division Street and also at the Sparta Civic Center located at 75 N. Union.

Where can I find Volunteer Opportunities?

We are always happy to have volunteers for running our children's activities, helping with event set-up and admissions, parking, hospitality, and t-shirt sales. Please visit our Volunteer Page to learn more about how to get involved in supporting local businesses and building the community.

Is smoking allowed?

Please refrain from smoking on festival grounds anywhere others are present.

How do I become a sponsor?

How do I become a vendor?

How will the festivals help the local economy?

The festivals and other events will help the local economy by using local service provides, encouraging the attendees to stop at area businesses, restaurants, bars, and museums during set changes, and by brining in residents from other cities.

What is the Sparta Chamber.DDA.Events mission?

The Chamber.DDA.Events organizations work together to bring people closer, build community, grow the local economy by the influx of dollars spent, and work to synergize success. Sparta Events is a 501(c)3 organization that is governed by an all-volunteer board of committed community leaders.
