Creating a Unique Opportunity for Kids

Did anyone else set up a lemonade stand as a kid? Every summer, I would set up a table at our family garage sale in hopes of making a few dollars off of lemonade sales. It was exciting back then, and kids today still have lots of fun making things to sell! That's why we started the Kid's Market! Kiddos of all ages set up in Sparta Town Square on the second Thursday of the summer months to sell their homemade goods.

This market gives kids the unique opportunity to see what it's like to run a business. Product design, customer service, and making change are just a few of the things that kids learn from this event. They can connect with other youth and grow in their entrepreneurial skills!

Many of the kids use the market as a chance to make money to put towards their goals. One girl is putting the money she makes towards a new four-wheeler. Another group of kids put their lemonade sales towards going to the State Little League Tournament. It's amazing to hear all of the goals that kids have and how selling at the market helps the kids reach them!

Our last Kid's Market of the season is this Thursday, August 8 from 5:30-7. Bring your dollar bills and come support Sparta's youngest business owners! In doing so, you will be furthering their growth as entrepreneurs, helping them reach their goals, and bringing them joy! Let's make this the most successful Kid's Market yet! See you Thursday!
