Embrace your "Celtic" side in Sparta on Aug 14!

The Sparta Celtic fest is ALL about entertainment and the gates open at 11 am. The entry is at 75 N. Union and the gate is located at the rear of ChoiceOne Bank under the "arch" that leads to Rogers Park. The festival is ALWAYS free entry and is dog friendly! There will be vendors in Rogers Park, Irish and Scottish bands and dance groups throughout the day, a food court with some authentic food and some traditional festival food.

Tasty Treat will be there with Ice Cream and Hot Dogs, Trini's will be therewith California Burritos and Hamburgers, and authentic "bangers and Mash", Shepards Pie, and Rarebit Sandwich ((its like meat with a fried egg on it -- definitely a must try to really get into the "Celtic Spirit"!))

New this year will be a wine selection from Stoney Ridge Vineyards and Winery. ALso have Irish Whiskey and Scottish Whiskey for tasting and drinking. Have a selection of Celtic Beers, like Guinness but we will also have familiar domestic beers and seltzers. The Beer Garden is located immediately behind the Civic Center, where you can grab your favorite adult beverage from the bars on-site and listen and linger with friends under the shade of the tent or picnic tables with umbrellas throughout the day. The Beer Garden allows all ages on-site as the festival is very kid-friendly, but you must have a photo ID to purchase an adult beverage.

Both crafters and Celtic-themed merchants will be on-site in Rogers Park, usually, you can find anything from a new kilt, Celtic-themed jewelry, and gifts to some home decor. Mixed in with the vendors will be some of the classic "Celtic" snack food like shortbreads, scones, and other treats.

While you're entering the festival grounds, you'll have the chance to see the new "Car Show" that will be parked on N. Union Street and Library Street. Registration to enter the car show starts at 10:00 and goes until 2 pm, the show will go until 4 pm (trophies awarded for 8 different class groups). Entry is $20 per vehicle, contact Glen for registration details.

The Sparta Celtic Festival is a family-friendly event focused on the expression of Celtic heritage. Located in Roger’s Park in Sparta Michigan, the festival offers music, food, and merchants with a Celtic focus.
