Sparta is so excited to announce that we are going to be “Running with Scissors” on Wednesday, May 19 starting at 1 pm! Running from new business to new business to do an official Ribbon Cutting with our extra-large 3 ft long scissors, that is! The Sparta Chamber in addition to other Sparta business and organization representatives is inviting the public to our ribbon cutting afternoon by following the schedule of all the places we get to celebrate this month!
Why is Sparta doing this? “Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we weren’t able to celebrate our new businesses that opened up in the last 13 months the way we normally get to – with a big ribbon-cutting celebration at each business!” mentioned Elizabeth Morse, DDA/Chamber Director for the Village of Sparta. “The Sparta Chamber wanted to make sure we had the opportunity to really welcome each spot with a proper grand opening… and one thing let to another and we ended up with 12 in one afternoon!” The afternoon will be a fast-paced welcome of each spot, and the Chamber will be keeping to the tight schedule, so the public or business owners can jump “in” to the schedule to participate at any time they can! “We couldn’t be more excited to have this showcase moment for Sparta, said Morse. Throughout the last year, the Sparta community has really shown why people love owning a business and living in Sparta – the infusion of local support has been felt across multiple industries, and is a fantastic feeling to know that our community really is, “Sparta Strong”.
The event will be held out front of each of the business locations.
